Cameronian movie industry mourns actor, Franklin Meumeu

The Cameroonian film industry is currently grieving the loss of a well-known actor named Franklin Meumeu.

On the morning of October 17, 2023, the young actor in his thirties experienced a breakdown in his toilet. Franklin is believed to have passed away due to a heart attack.

The untimely passing of this actor has caused great sorrow and anguish within the Cameroonian film community.

“After your brilliant exhibition in “Smiling Mask”, I was looking forward to seeing you again at “Scars”. It’s with a heavy heart that I got this sad news minutes ago while waiting for you to join us on set. Rest well, talented bro; heaven just robbed us,” René Ettat lamented.

Franklin Meumeu acted in a good number of Cameroonian movies, among which were “Le Guerrier du Roi Fo’o Notchegwom”, Catherine (2023), Le Karma de la Tchiza (2020) and Batomen (2022).

According to other local sources, the actor was reported to be strong and healthy just one day before his passing.

The content of his most recent Facebook post, which was shared six days ago, has evoked a range of emotions among users. Many are curious if he had any knowledge of his impending demise.

The post read: “Stay on alert…and seize the opportunity when the time come #artwork, #cinematographylife#betterworld“.

Reacting to the said post, a follower, Testimony, said, “Franklin Meumeu, like, seriously? What were you talking about when you recommended our attention for the famous alert broth? I can’t believe you’re gone, bro. So Sad”

“His name was Franklin Meumeu very good actor in the promising future, he played in the battle of Cheries, he left us today after a brief illness. May our ancestors welcome you with kindness,” wrote Rigobert Tamwa Eshu

The loss of his life will create a significant void in the field of cinematography for many people.
