By David Atangana

There is shock and consternation in the Likomba, a neighborhood in Tiko following the demise of a five-year-old son.

The toddler was reportedly strangled to death by the mother.

The incident is said to have occurred early Monday, January 23, 2023.

Locals say the young girl drugged the four months old child before strangling him to death.

“She gave the child tramadol to drink,” a local told MMI adding that, “The child drank and could not withstand it.”

According to the grandmother of the young girl, it isn’t the first time that the latter is drugging the young boy.

“According to explanations by the girl’s grandmother, it is not the first nor the second time that her granddaughter is drugging the child,” our source narrated adding, ” The first time she caught her drugging the child, she interrogated the daughter but the daughter told her they were mere pills.”

The teenage mother according to neighbors, “strangled the child after drugging him”.

MMI cannot confirm that the drug given to the baby was indeed, tramadol.

Outraged by the macabre act, the population stormed her premises giving the young mother ‘snake’ beatings- stripping her almost naked.

Wailing engulfed the area as the population wept by the lifeless body of the innocent baby.
