Woman stabs boyfriend Cameroon
A 23-year-old woman called Brigitte has been arrested and detained for allegedly causing the death of her boyfriend, Tsague Ghislain.
The tragic incident took place at the Mendong neighbourhood, in Yaounde – barely two days into the New Year.
Sources say it occurred after Ghislain refused a financial request from Brigitte. The circumstances surrounding their conversation, as well as the specific amount requested, remain unclear. Witnesses report a heated argument escalating at their meeting place, eventually leading to a physical altercation.
During the confrontation, Brigitte is accused of inflicting fatal injuries on her boyfriend, resulting in his death. He died on the spot, MMI has learned.
While investigations have been opened, sources close to the victim are devastated. “That is my brother in the neighbourhood. Since that night, we have been inconsolable,” Ghislain’s brother lamented.
The victim’s mother is devastated and inconsolable.
Brigitte has been arrested and detained.
In a related incident, a motorcycle rider narrowly escaped death in Limbe after being stabbed multiple times by his girlfriend, identified as Modestine.
This raises critical concerns about domestic violence, mental health concerns, and the potential impact of financial pressures within relationships. Although domestic violence is often associated with male victims, this reverse situation adds to the worrying number of domestic violence cases recorded in Cameroon.
