A 32-year-old man whose name MMI got as Joress has set their family home ablaze in Peté, Bandjoun in the West region, after requesting the sum of 1500 FCFA from his father to no avail.
Sources indicate that the man had requested the sum of 1500 FCFA to compile files for an entrance examination. A request which was turned down by his father.
To express his anger to his dad, Joress resorted to setting fire to the family home where he lived with his parents, on the night of Tuesday breaking Wednesday.
After setting the house ablaze, Joress fled leaving a text where he promised death to his dad when he returned.
He was arrested and is being kept at the Bandjoun gendarmerie post. He will be taken to court in the days ahead.
