Cameroon Bar Association communique
The President of the Cameroon Bar Association, Mbah Eric Mbah, has issued an official statement providing key updates on the Examination to qualify as Advocates-in-Training (EAIT) for the 2024 session.
The announcement, with important implications for future lawyers, focuses on two specific groups of applicants: those who provided transcripts of necessary diplomas and those who submitted diplomas from foreign institutions.
Individuals in both groups must now submit extra paperwork to the Bar Head Office located in Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon.
The communique asks applicants to make sure to provide certified copies of the testimonial (“attestation de réussite”), original Degree Certificates in Law, and equivalences of diplomas obtained overseas.
It’s important to emphasise that according to the communiqué, failure to turn in these specific documents by the deadline will lead to the application being denied. Although the submission deadline is not specified in the document, it is advisable for applicants to act promptly and diligently to ensure successful processing of their applications.
For further information and any questions, applicants should contact the Cameroon Bar Association directly.
This notice is a crucial reminder for all potential candidates to carefully review the specified requirements and promptly submit the required documentation. Not following these guidelines could result in delays or issues in the application process, which might put aspiring lawyers at risk of not being able to qualify as Advocates-in-Training in the 2024 session. It is crucial for candidates to stay informed and responsive to official announcements from the Cameroon Bar Association as the legal landscape evolves.
