The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC has denounced the Sunday’s Church shooting that left a Christian dead and a pastor injured in Bali Nyonga, NWR of Cameroon. In a release this Monday, the PCC Moderator, Samuel Fonki said it was time the belligerents in the armed conflict in Anglophone Cameroon arrived at an unconditional ceasefire. He, however, failed to name the perpetrators of the incident, though other church officials and members indict the military.


The North West House of Chiefs has added its voice to condemnations of the Bali church attack. The body in a release today said it was “one more attack too much for the already agrieving population.” The release also failed to name the orchestrators of the gruesome act, a move many have termed “hypocritical.”


The Cameroon army has in usual fashion, denied responsibility for the said attack in Bali, calling indicting reports “a hoax.” The army in a lapse-filled release, said the act was arrived out by separatist fighters in Bali. Fear has gripped the North West region as separatist fighters in Oku today led by “General” No Pity burnt down public buildings and market stalls of traders for violating ghost town. Reports say security forces went into hiding as the event unfolded.


Separatist fighters in Fundong have temporarily suspended work on the road linking Mentang and the main Town Fundong. They reportedly beat up workers, kidnapping some, saying the road should be done by machine and not by hand.


A family in Mulang, Bamenda says it is searching for its so, a form five student who failed the GCE and has not been seen at home for two days now. Locals fear another GCE-related suicide might be on the horizon.


Another family is in grief in Bamenda after their son commited suicide after failing the GCE examination. His body was found hanging on a tree by a river on August 22, after the results were released.
