The decomposing corpse of a Buea-based carpenter popularly known as George has been discovered in Mundemba, headquarters of Ndian division, South West Region.

The corpse of Mr George who equally happened to be a Council Contractor was found on Friday, June 2 in a house that he temporarily rented.

According to reports, the man left Buea for Mundemba for a contract that entailed roofing of the Mundemba Council chambers. His absence at the working site was however later noticed. A situation that triggered confusion and panic amongst his workers.

“All attempts to reach him by phone were impossible as his line was not going through…At first instance, they thought he might have traveled to Buea but a week later as suspicions grew, the workers decided to go to his abode and found him dead,” reported Express FM Radio 91.5

His body however remained stranded in the said locality as “skippers or captains refused to board the corpse due to its state of decomposition.”

“Relatives of the deceased do not want their father, brother, and son to be buried in Mundemba but at the time of this report, none of them was willing to go there to evacuate it,” Express FM Radio 91.5 further revealed.

The body has been deposited at the mortuary in Mundemba.
