Cameroon gets 11 nominations at AFRIMMA 2021

Voting for this year’s edition of the Africa Music Magazine Awards, AFRIMMA is currently ongoing with many gunning to see their favorite acts clinch the win.

Cameroon got eleven nominations, perhaps its highest ever.

These include Tay C, Salatiel, and Ko-C competing alongside other African acts for the award of Best Male Artist in Central Africa.

In the Best Female in Centra Africa category, Coco Argentee, Daphne, Mimie, and Blanche Bailly featured, competing with Mayra Andrade and Soraia Ramos from Cape Verde, and Gabon’s Shan’l.

Rap queen, Askia Karin on her part, is the lone Cameroonian to feature in the Best Female Rap Act category, competing with others from Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and Zambia.

Video Director, Dr. Nkeng Stephens on his part, was nominated for Best Video Director, and Salatiel for Music Producer of the Year.

Henry Le Sheriff too made an appearance on the nominations list in the Best African Dancer Category. Tay C picked a second nomination in the Best Francophone Artist category, competing with fellow countrymen, Tenor, and artists from other nations.

Most of the nominated Cameroonian acts like their counterparts elsewhere have since taken to social media to call on their fans to vote for them.

Results will be made public a few weeks from today.
