Cameroon: Ghastly Road Accident Claims Life Of Gendarmerie Commander

A ghastly road accident along the Garoua-Ngaoundere highway on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, has claimed the life of the Gendarmerie Legion Commander of Adamaoua identified by MMI as Colonel Kakombe Jean Pierre. The accident occurred on the Garoua-Ngaoundere highway.

The accident, according to an eyewitness, was caused by the colonel’s driver who ran into a truck parked near the roadside well signalled.

“The colonel’s driver ran into this parked truck, which had a breakdown. Since it was on speed, the shock was fatal, killing the colonel instantly, and as you can see, the car has been destroyed,” reported an eyewitness present at the scene.

“The parked truck had signalled itself. We still do not get how the colonel’s driver did not see. He has been rushed to the hospital for medical assistance. So far, only the colonel died instantly,” he added.

The colonel was on board his military service car when the incident happened. The car has been completely damaged due to the severity of the shock it encountered.

This is one of the latest in the series of accidents recorded so far in Cameroon.
