Cameroon Military Frees 6 Hostages From Boko Haram Captivity

An operation carried out by the Cameroon army in the Far North Region has succeeded to free about 6 Hostages from Boko Haram captivity in the locality of Tcholliré in Far North Region.

The operation carried out by the military also led to the recovery of several weapons which had been seized from them by the terrorists in attacks.

The release of the hostages by the military is considered by many residents of the region as the little silver lining in their “hellish” living conditions.

Many inhabitants of the region have called several times for security to be reinforced in the region. Thousands of persons have abandoned their houses in the region and fled to the mountains for fear of the terrorists.

Several villages have also been razed down by the terrorists who often find ease infiltrating the population, and committing the acts.

Several looting raids have also been carried by the Islamists, and sometimes are only met with the local vigilante groups, who most often are not sophisticated enough to repel them.
