Cameroon: Oku traditional ruler reacts to the death of Queen Elizabeth II

The traditional ruler of Oku, His Royal Majesty Fon Ngum IV has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, following her death on September 8th 2022.

He becomes one of the first dignitaries in Cameroon to react.

Speaking on behalf of his people, Fon Ngum said: “The Kingdom of Oku and The Oku Royal Family wishes to extend her sincere message of deepest sympathy to the People of the UK and most especially the UK Royal Family, and King Charles III.”

Fon Ngum reasserts his kingdom’s ties with the British monarch and promised to prioritize the promotion of cultures and values of the Commonwealth.

“Our Kingdom understands the deepest ties our country has had with the UK Monarchy, and we wish to pledge our support to keep on promoting exchange of our cultures and values as has always been in the commonwealth,” said Fon Ngum.
