Cameroon: over 100,000 vaccinated against COVID-19

Figures from the Health Ministry show that the National Vaccination Campaign against Covid-19 launched on July 7 by the Ministry of Public Health has already injected at least 106,044 Cameroonians in over 4 days.

Though the number is currently below the target which was set by the Health Ministry at the beginning of the Campaign (200,000 in 5 days) it is significantly higher than the figures of citizens injected (102,371) during the first phase of the National Vaccination Campaign which ran for two whole months.

Seeing the enthusiasm at which persons have responded in at the current campaign, the Health Ministry has decided to extend the campaign by adding 5 more days for active vaccination across the national territory.

Minister Manaouda Malachie while speaking to CRTV called on persons to ditch the conspiracy theories currently being spread about the vaccine and assured that it was the only way of getting full immunity from the virus.
