Cameroon: President, Biya and wife en route to Switzerland despite previous protests

Cameroon President, Biya and his wife Chantal Biya left Cameroon this morning for Geneva, Switzerland.

They are equally expected to attend the United States-Africa summit scheduled for December 13 to 15 in Washington DC, USA.

President Biya has come under fire from activists and politicians for the amount of time he spends in Switzerland.

In June 2019, Biya’s visit was met with widespread protests by the BAS, leading to his expulsion from the country.
