Cameroon: Prison Authorities in Search of Escapee Female Inmate

A manhunt has been launched all over the national territory for a detainee at the Bafoussam Central Prison.The Lady in question, 46 year old Ndunamo Kamto Cyrille Ines penitentiary authorities say was being held under charges of theft for which she was convicted for three years in 2019.Her second crime was fraud for which she was convicted on May 3rd 2020.She was a health worker prior to her detention at the Bafoussam central prison.Cyrille Ines escaped from the Bafoussam regional hospital at about 4AM and has not been seen since then.Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Cameroon, many have criticised the state of Cameroon’s detention facilities, accusing government of letting the prisons stay overcrowded.Mimi Mefo Info
