Cameroon, the government assures the people as the country records its first Coronavirus case.

Coronavirus has been Confirmed in Cameroon, making it the third country in Sub Sahara Africa affected by the deadly virus.

According a presss release early Friday 6th March, 2020 from the Ministry of Public Health in Cameroon, a 58-year-old French citizen who arrived Yaounde on February 24th 2020, has been tested and confirmed positive of the COVID-19.

Minister Manaouda Malachie says the active surveillance system put in place by Cameroon, since the outbreak of COVID-19 has made it possible to detect the case.

“The case was placed in solitary confinement in the care Center of the Yaounde Central Hospital for appropriate treatment” says the minister in his press release.

In the meantime, the government of Cameroon is assuring the people, calling on them to remain calm while appropriate measures are put in place to curb the spread of the virus.

As of now, a press conference has been announced in the hours ahead..
