Cameroon: Two kids die in Kumba after allegedly consuming poisoned food

At least two kids are reported to have died in Kumba after allegedly consuming poisoned food.

The incident took place in Akala street Monday morning.

“Four of the children consumed the meal, two of them died on the way to the hospital while two others are receiving treatment, ” a witness who resides in Akala recounted.

The deceased kids are aged 4 and 7 while those under medical observation are 9 and 12 years old, we gathered.

The suspect, a lady in Kumba has been apprehended.

She is currently being detained at a police station.

“Everyone here is accusing her, she added poison to a meal she prepared with the aim of killing the father oft he two deceased kids – who happens to be her boyfriend. The boy, a bike rider had threatened to quit the relationship, that was her own revenge tactic, ” recounted our sources.

Our source adds that the bike rider was the target and not the children.

Mimi Mefo Info could not verify the lady’s involvement in the case.

Investigations are underway.
