Cameroonian artist Stanley Enow announces death of his father

Cameroonian music sensation Stanley Enow is reeling from the loss of his father, Pa Enow Eyong Peter. The artist, known for his chart-topping hits and numerous accolades, made the heartbreaking announcement via a press release issued by the record label he co-founded, Motherland Label, on October 31, 2023.

In a sombre and heartfelt statement, the label shared the devastating news, saying, “It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Mr. ENOW EYONG PETER, father of the artist STANLEY ENOW, and his family.”

The release also extended condolences to Stanley Enow and his family, asking well-wishers, fans, the media, and the general public to join them in sending prayers and support to the grieving artist during this profoundly difficult time.

Accolades and Awards

Stanley Enow, a prominent figure in the Cameroonian music industry, first gained international recognition in 2013 with his hit track “Hein Pere” and has since gone on to create a lasting impact in the music world.

His 2015 album, “Soldier Like Ma Papa,” was a landmark moment in his career, and his musical collaborations with national and international stars have further solidified his status as a global artist.

Throughout his career, Stanley Enow has worked with a wide range of artists, including F.A.B., Nyanda, Fuse ODG, Olamide, Sarkodie, Montess, Ebako, Miss Lena Official, ZINNIA, Duc Z, Ice Prince, 2baba Idibia, GASHA, AKA IV League, LOCKO, DJ Neptune, Mr. Eazi, Davido, AWU SING SONG, Tzy Panchak, and many more.

His remarkable talent and dedication to his craft have earned him numerous accolades and awards. Notable among these are the Male Artist of the Year and Urban Artist of the Year titles at the first Cameroon Academy Awards in 2013, the Best Video of the Year at the Balafon Music Awards for “Hien Pere” in 2013, and Best New Act Awards at both the MTV Africa Music Awards and the African Muzik Magazine Awards in 2014.

Support from the Music Community

As news of his father’s passing spread, fellow Cameroonian artist Salatiel took to his official Facebook page to express his condolences. He wrote, “A father is a source of inspiration for most men; no matter how old you are when that monument departs, it’s always heartbreaking. My heartfelt condolences to you, Stanley Enow.” Salatiel also encouraged Stanley to be a “King Kong” for his siblings during this trying time.

Preparations for the wakekeeping and burial of Pa Enow Peter are already underway.

The wakekeeping is scheduled for November 3, and the burial for November 22, 2023, with the final resting place being Eshobi, a village in Manyu, South West Region of Cameroon. The family, friends, and fans of Stanley Enow are united in offering their support and sympathy during this difficult period.
