Cameroonian Comedians Take the Stage in the US: A Promising Indicator of Industry Growth?

Three talented Cameroonian comedians – Caro (Mbeng Lilian), Senior Pastor (Christian Best), and Spaco Lee – have recently made their way to the US, bringing with them a fresh wave of humour and potential for growth in the country’s comedy scene.

The details of their trip are still unclear. Caro’s team has confirmed a tour for the Cameroonian diaspora in the US, but they have not yet announced the exact events. “Caro’s tour will involve a visit to our diaspora community, but there are no specific events planned at this time,” they informed MMI.

Similarly, the exact nature of the connection between the three comedians remains a mystery. Photos of the airport arrival in New York have been circulating on social media, featuring Senior Pastor and Spaco Lee.

The Senior Pastor left a mysterious clue in one of his posts, expressing gratitude towards the Roy Mamah Show. There has been speculation on various blogs that Roy Mamah may be the driving force behind their visit to the US. The Roy Mamah Show uploaded a video to warmly welcome Spaco Lee and Senior Pastor upon their arrival.

The move has been received favourably. Spaco Lee recently had a performance in the UK, while Senior Pastor and Caro have extensive experience as seasoned performers abroad. The news aligns with Lenho (Chef/Cuter) and Starzy’s ongoing shows in Dubai, highlighting the global reach of Cameroonian comedy. Auntie Felicia’s previous shows in the US and Canada highlight a noticeable increase in Cameroonian comedians expanding their reach to an international audience.
