Cameroonian comedy sensation 237 Towncryer drives success with new Benz

Cameroonian comedian, Tembu Daniel Ebere, popularly known as 237 Towncryer, has set social media abuzz with his new luxury car, a Mercedes Benz ML 350.

The comedian, known for his unique style of incorporating crying while addressing crucial socio-economic and political issues, took to social media to share the news of his latest acquisition.

It sent waves of excitement through his extensive fan base.

The newly acquired Mercedes Benz, reported to have cost approximately FCFA 40 million, symbolizes the comedian’s hard work and dedication to his craft.

In a post on social media, Towncryer shared a piece of advice, “Do hard work in silence and let your new car make some noise. I don’t pray for things; I work for that thing which I want.”

The entertainer, who began his comedy journey a few years ago, faced initial criticism for his unconventional style of blending comedy with shedding light on pressing societal issues.

However, this unique approach became his brand, garnering acceptance and recognition in the entertainment industry.

Registered under the Cameroon Ministry of Arts and Culture as a comedian, Towncryer’s talent has earned him numerous awards, including the King of Stage title in Bamenda in 2015 by Shosa Empire.

His accolades also extend to being named Best Content Creator at the Almost a Night Award in 2019.

He was again named African Best Comedian at the Afrikprenure Awards in 2020, and Comedian of the Year at the New Breed Africa Awards in 2021, among others.

In a move fueled by ambition, Towncryer relocated to Nigeria two years ago, collaborating with Nigerian celebrities, including the influential Don Jazzy.

This venture significantly boosted his visibility and expanded his fan base beyond borders.

With a Facebook account boasting over 500,000 followers, TownCryer has cultivated a substantial online community that contributes to his income through content views.

His success story highlights the potential for online content creation as a lucrative career path in the evolving landscape of entertainment.

As Cameroon’s comedy sector strives for recognition on a global scale, artists like 237 Towncryer play a crucial role in showcasing the country’s talent.
