Cameroonian Techpreneur, Rebecca Enonchong spends 2nd night behind bars

Activist and entrepreneur, Rebecca Enonchong is expected in court in Douala today. This comes after she went a second night behind bars following her arrest and detention.

CPP leader, Kah Wallah has provided further insight into the situation regarding the highly disputed arrest.

Much like the case of late journalist, Samuel Wazizi, Rebecca was called on phone and asked to come to the Gendarmerie which she did.

Upon showing up at the Gendarmerie in Douala, she was immediately detained by the Gendarmes, who said they had recieved verbal instructions from the Attorney General to detain her.

Kah Wallah equally revealed on her twitter that Rebecca was questioned regarding an ongoing family case in court.

On the case, she’d asked for 2 complaints filed on the same property to be handled by 1 investigator rather than 2 separate investigators. She was informed that her suggestion is considered undoable.

As of now, it should still be made clear that there has been no clearly written complaint against Rebecca, no written summon or warrant.

The arrest at this moment is seen as clearly illegal and thousands of Cameroonians are strongly clamouring for her release. Many have expressed the believe she is being targeted for her criticisms of the Government of Cameroon.
