Cameroon:
MRC official calls on Biya to set example, take first COVID-19 jab

Some opposition politicians in cameroon have called on the country’s president to take the lead in the fight against COVID-19.

Cameroon receives its first batch of Covid-19 vaccines in the days ahead.

Government officials have called on citizens to maintain a positive stance towards the vaccine, and take it if need be.

To this effect, the National Communication secretary of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, MRC party, Sosthene Lipot has called on President Paul Biya to take the vaccine as an example to his countrymen.

“Members of government,” he added, should be prepared to take this vaccine first and on live tv”.

The MRC official’s statement comes at a time when the President has been criticized for not leading by example, and has hardly been seen even with a facemask since the pandemic started.
