Cameroon’s ambassador to Italy has condemned an attempt by Cameroonians to protest against last month’s killings of civilians by soldiers in Ngarbuh in the North West region.
This comes after plans of Cameroonians in Italy to protest against the Ngarbuh massacre and the Biya regime tomorrow March 8, 2020 in the town of Perugia were made known.
In a communique, Ambassador Dominique Awono Essama stated that the accusations against soldiers are false and undermine the efforts of the Cameroon government and authorities to bring back peace and serenity in the North West and South West regions.
In addition to that, Ambassador Dominique also warned that the protest will be in violation of laws put in place by the Italian government.
“The meeting will go against measures put in place by the Italian government in an attempt to limit Covid-19.”
The attempt to protest by Cameroonians in Italy comes weeks after over 35 including pregnant women and children were killed by soldiers in Ngarbuh.
Days later, a similar massacre was orchestrated in Small Babanki still in the North West region of Cameroon and fingers are still pointing at government forces.
