A cameroonian has lost his life while attempting to rescue his Ivorian friend from drowning in a river in Canada.
According to reports, Kevin Timneu and Marielle Kuassi, both African students, were undergoing studies at the Laval University of Quebec in Canada.
It is reported that the two young students on Sunday June 3, left for the Saint Charles River Bridge to take some pictures.
Once at the river, Marielle Kuassi lost control of herself and fell into the river. In an attempt to rescue the the latter, Kevin would be carried by the strong flow which left both with no chances of survival.
Friends of Kevin Timneu attested that the Cameroonian student was a soft and kind hearted person, and they were not surprised by his action.
Paul, a close friend to Kevin affirmed: “He was there for his friend… and I think if he had to do it again, he would do the same thing.”
“He is a boy who is always smiling, hard-working and kind. Its unbelievable! I still see him as if he was there,” Samuel another close friend to the Cameroonain student attested.
The mother of the deceased remains inconsolable after learning the news of his demise.
