Cyrille Sam Mbaka; former supporter and vice president of the Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU) has resigned from the political party.
The outspoken politician has said he will be announcing his new political destination before the end of this year.
“I and other ex militants of the CDU are in concertation with some political parties, civil society groups and youths for a party that will meet my vision of how to contribute for democracy and veritable leadership in Cameroon” he said while resigning.
In a declaration in Douala Thursday September 10th 2020, the politician who has militated with CDU for over thirty years officially announced his departure from the party.
SAM Mbaka addressing hundreds of politicians and media men and women said “It’s with sadness that am leaving CDU to continue the fight for what I believe in. Therefore, I solemnly announce my departure from the CDU”.
Cyrille Sam Mbaka adds that the Cameroon Democratic Union has gone astray since its founding president Dr. Adamu Ndam Njoya died in March 2020.
He explained that contrary to the law of the party, Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya otherwise wife of the founding president got to the helm of the party unconstitutionally.
He decried family management of what is supposed to be a national political party for all Cameroonians.
According to the third vice president of the CDU party, he was deceived by Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya on the 25th of April 2020 to organise an elective general assembly on the pretext that Sam Mbaka; 1st Vice president was sick.
The general assembly brought Patricia Ndam Njoya as president of the party barely less than two months after the death of her husband.
The resignation of Cyrille Sam Mbaka from the CDU party political commentators say has not only reduced the party to a regional body but a family ‘business’.
Cameroonians are waiting inpatiently waiting to see the next political move of Cyrille Sam Mbaka.
