Célestin Tawamba is the new strong man of GECAM

Businessman Célestin Tawamba has been voted as the pioneer board chair of the Cameroon Inter-employers Group, popularly known by its French acronym GECAM.

The former President of the now-dissolved GICAM was elected today during the first elective general assembly of GECAM, an organization created in December 2023 by merging GICAM and ECAM.

He will be leading the largest grouping for private sector employers in Cameroon alongside an 18-member team of Board of Directors.

GECAM groups over 90 percent of private companies in Cameroon, with top employers such as Eneo, SOCAPALM, MTN, among others, being part of the group.

Mr. Célestin Tawamba’s election was sure, because he was the sole candidate for the position, as his list was the only submitted for the election.
