Centre Region: Police officers allegedly molest, rape 15-year-old girl

Many are yet to come to terms with the testimony of a 15-year-old girl, Magiokeng Raissa, allegedly raped in Ntui, Centre Region of Cameroon.

Raissa, and a friend, Etoa Narcisse, reports say, were accosted by a police officer, Eba’a Ngomo Remy Gaetan on their way back from church on December 31st, 2021.

Boris Bertolt reports that the security officer and a colleague would later force the pair to copulate before them, and the teenagers complied unwillingly.

The boy was later sent fleeing, while Raissa was left at the Ntui Public Security Police Station where they were forced to carry out the act.

Another police officer, believed to be the boss of the other two, is said to have arrived at the police station later and continued molesting the girl who had been left naked.

He would go on to have both regular and anal sex with her, ignoring her pleas and cries.

At press time, a complaint accompanied by a medical certificate showing the girl’s state has been filed against police officer Eba’a Ngomo Remy Gaetan by the girl’s justice-seeking father.

It remains uncertain what course of action will be taken by the police hierarchy.

The incident however leaves many in shock, given that it comes at a time when the forces of law and order were being called upon by locals to step up efforts against sexual violence and molestation on young girls and women.
