Chad: Rebel group threatens more bloodshed

There is uncertainty in the Republic of Chad three days after the announcement of the death of President Idriss Deby Itno.

A rebel group called “Front Pour L’Alternance et Concorde au Tchad”(FACT) fighting for the liberation of the country has warned all personalities invited for the burial of Late president Idriss Deby Itno tomorrow Friday, April 23rd not to dare respect the invitation.

In a communique made public Wednesday, April 21st, the rebel group threatens to attack those wishing to attend the burial. They stress that the deadline for the burial of the president was April 21st.

To the rebel group that has claimed responsibility for killing president Idriss Deby Itno,they are determined to overthrow the present military junta in Chad headed by Mahamat Idriss Deby and put in place a civilian transitional government.

They have vowed to end to the thirty-year reign of the Deby family.

Meantime, there are talks of President Emmanuel Macron of France attending the burial of President Idriss Deby Itno.
