Chantal Biya ICT Center in Batibo in Ruins as Anglophone Conflict Soars

This is MMI Picture of the Week. Today, we look at a structure which was named after Cameroon’s First Lady, Chantal Biya.

This is the current state of the Chantal Biya International Conference Teleconference Center located in Batibo, North West Region.

The center was constructed to help young girls acquire ICT skills.

Even before the armed conflict, it was not very functional due to the need for a consistent electricity supply. With the ongoing conflict, the center has fallen into ruins.
