Chief of Bamendankwe Integrated Health Center Discovered Dead In His Office

Dr. Anye Philemon, head of the Bamendankwe Integrated Health Center is no more.

His lifeless body was discovered at about 7pm Saturday, July 24, 2021, lying on the floor of his office.

The 40-year-old failed to attend a workshop downtown Bamenda and all attempts to reach him on phone were futile.

Arriving at the scene, the Director of the Regional Hospital in Bamenda Dr. Denis Nsame suspected that he might have died of Covid-19 reason why the Covid-19 test was conducted on the body.

The results came out negative thereby prompting Dr. Nsame to indicate that more tests were going to be carried out to uncover what killed him.

We also gathered on the ground that he had been suffering from high blood pressure for some time now. We have not been able to confirm this part of the story.

His office was sealed by Gendarmes with instructions from the Divisional Officer for Bamenda I, Gilbert Baldena while investigations continue.

Dr. Anye occupied that office for about 12 months until his death. He lives behind a wife, two kids, and others loved ones to mourn him.
