Chinese national robbed of millions in crime-prone Douala

A Chinese man has been robbed of millions in Douala as insecurity continues to worsen in the port city.

The man was robbed in broad daylight, Wednesday by armed bandits.

The bandits attacked the Chinese national at gunpoint before carting away huge sum of money estimated at about 800 million France cfa.

Mimi Mefo info learnt that, heavily armed men created an accident scene at Carrefour Douala Manga Bell, in the Bali neighborhood of Douala I subdivisions which caused the vehicle of the Chinese national to stop, facilitating their evil operation.

“Three armed men appeared in front of his vehicle on two motor bikes, created an accident causing his driver is to stop. While they were arguing, the men caught the Chinese at gun point, entered into his vehicle and removed a bag containing money” an eye witness told Mimi Mefo info.

Other witnesses suspect the victim’s driver of complicity with the bandits. They say the bandits fired several shots in the air before driving away.

The attack comes less than a week after the shooting of a young cashier in front of a bank in Bonanjo Douala.
Reports say the man, an accountant with Santa Lucia was sent to with 80 million Franc to exchange in one of the banks in Bonanjo, the heart of Douala.
