Christians in Bamunka-Ndop meeting under the banner of the Ecumenical Movement for Christian Unity have decried the tense atmosphere to which the population of Ndop have been subjected to for a couple of months.

In a letter addressed to the Senior Divisional Officer of Ngoketunjia, and signed by Rev. Fr. Micheal Mua, the Parish Priest of Saint Peter and Paul’s Parish Bamunka-Ndop and Rev. Philip A. Parish, Pastor of PC Bamunka, the Christians condemned the random killings and street display of corpses that sometimes take more than two days for it to be removed.

They have also condemned the burning of homes of residents, business items, and structures for failing to operate on some days of the week.

The Christians have been pointing fingers at forces of law and order deployed in Ndop.

Regarding the display of human corpses that takes days before disposal, the Movement for Christian Unity described it as dehumanizing, undignifying, and traumatizing to the population and exposes them to untold health hazards.

The movement regrets that the population continues to live in constant threat and tension even with the presence of the forces of law and order whom they felt are there to protect them and their properties.

As concerns the setting ablaze of homes, business items, and business structures of an already impoverished people by the forces of law and order, the Movement for Christian Unity says “this can only make a bad situation worst”.

They have decried in strong terms and laments the state of anarchy reigning in Ndop that is causing untold suffering and misery to the population.

The movement has urged the Senior Divisional Officer to use his powers and take measures that should put an end to the deplorable state of living in Ndop.
