CNN journalist, crew arrested while covering Minneapolis protest -Trump reacts

There is widespread criticism over the arrest of CNN reporter, Omar Jimenez.

The pressman was arrested while reporting live during protests in Minneapolis.

While the police said Omar and his crew were arrested for refusing to move when asked to, many believe the act was a violation of their first amendment right.

The CNN crew was one of others covering riots that emerged after the murder of George Floyd. Buildings including a police station were set ablaze by angry protesters during the third night of protests since Floyd died.

US president Donal Trump reacting to the killing said it demonstrates a total lack of leadership. Mayor Jacob Frey he said should get his actor together or he will send in the national guard.

“… When the looting starts the shooting starts” he also warned protesters.

The arrested reporter an his crew have since been released.
