Some offices of the Yaoundé 7 council have been sealed by the National Social Insurance Funds, for not saving employees’ pension benefits with the latter.
This follows complaint by a retired senior staff who discovered his pension had not been saved with the CNPS for the over 10 years.
It is therefore in this regard that the CNPS has taken measures to discipline, not only the Yaounde council but others institutions as well.
“Yaoundé 7 Council is not the only institution owing CNPS dues. They are so many institutions like that and what I can say is that the total amount of debts are around 100 billion.” revealed Sibe A Rim Christian, Regional director of the CNPS for the Centre, East and South Regions.
The CNPS has therefore urged all institutions to meet up with their financial obligations towards the CNPS, otherwise more stringent sanctions will be implemented.
