Collapsing ENEO pole Kills 17- year -old girl in Buea

A 17 year-old student has been killed by a collapsing electric pole in Buea.

The incident on Sunday followed hours of heavy downpour in Buea.

The 17 year old female by name Ashu Bridget was killed at the Check Point neighborhood.

“She went to buy a book which she was to use in school today. The rain met her upon her return back home and unfortunately that’s when the pole fell and hit her on the head” a close family source tells MMI.

The young girl, Ashu Bridget was however alive when she was discovered by a good samaritan and rushed to the Solidarity Clinic.

A family source narrated that “We went to the Solidarity Hospital and first the gate man says it’s late, he won’t open the gate. It was around 11 o’clock. After serious begging we were allowed inside then we went up and the nurses were concentrating on her injuries on the leg instead of her head that the pole hit. She finally gave up the ghost”.
