Conflicting accounts following death of journalist in Douala

A Cameroonian journalist whose name MMI got as Bounya Jean Lottin is reported to have died in Souza, a town in the suburb of Douala, the Littoral region of Cameroon.

There have been conflicting narratives surrounding the cause of death.

While several reports have it that the journalist died as a result of an illness, Beatrice Lottin, a relative to the deceased says he was murdered.

“He was discovered dead on the road to Souza, no injuries, or a scratch, even the mortuary attendant tells us that he doesn’t understand anything,” wrote Beatrice Lottin on her Facebook page.

“I want to know who did this to my brother,” she lamented.

The body of the journalist is currently lying at the mortuary of the Dimbombari District Hospital.
