Court Magistrate disguises as a lady to write law exam for girlfriend

A Ugandan court magistrate has been arrested and disgraced after he disguised himself as a lady to write a law examination for his girlfriend.

The newly appointed magistrate, Musa Semwogerere was taken out of the examination hall after he had already taken a seat at the Law Development Center (LDC) Lira in Uganda.

Reports say Musa Semwogerere was appointed to the rank of grade one magistrate by the Judicial Service Commission over two weeks ago before he was caught red-handed writing an exam for his girlfriend, Irene Mutonyi.

The magistrate has been charged with two counts of forgery and will be remanded to prison till August 03, 2023. The director of LDC said the actions of the magistrate were in contravention of section 351 of the penal code, and Impersonation contrary to Section 381 of the Penal Code Act.

“We reported the matter to the Police and he has been charged with two counts of uttering a false document contrary to Section 351 of the Penal Code Act and Impersonation contrary to Section 381 of the Penal Code Act and remanded to prison till August 3, 2023. We will ensure that this case is prosecuted fully to its conclusion, including all other culpable persons,” he told the press.
