Cameroonians are however worried that the figures advanced are untrue, accusing authorities of hiding facts and numbers.

Talking to Mimi Mefo Info this Sunday, one of them questioned the efficiency of the emergency team and numbers in place.

Hear him:

“Why should the emergency team be reluctant to pick my call…I know how I’m feeling… For the pass 12days I’m having fever with some related symptoms of covid19 pandemic. And I think me feeling it’s normal or it will be ok will way put my family and friends at risk I need assistance or maybe directions on what to do…Fever is always as a result of virus’s and bacteria I need medical assistance…I aswel have chest burn likely to be pneumonia Cought fever that’s enough reason for me to seek medical assistance”.

Mimi Mefo Info sought to know from a health expert, Dr Nick Ngwayam how efficient hotlines in Cameroon are.

Nick said the system is impeded by corruption, adding that, “Hotlines are not effective in Cameroon because our cities are not well planned and digging out people from the dungeons called cities can be very daunting…Also we have issues of responsibility on the part of those supposed to respond”.

He urged patients to make their way to emergency services if they unwell.
