Covid-19 test no longer compulsory requirement for leaving Cameroon

The Minister of Public Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie has reduced health measures for travelers by rendering Covid-19 testing non-compulsory while leaving the Cameroon territory.

The information was disclosed in a release signed by the Minister of Public Health on September 29, 2022.

According to the Public Health Ministry boss, “PCR tests will no longer be systematic when leaving Cameroonian territory but will be required according to the requirements of the country of destination.”

A few months ago, the Minister of Public Health imposed the sum of 30,000 CFA for Covid-19 tests.

Many had decried the high costs, worsened by the compulsory nature of the test for those seeking to travel out of Cameroon.
