CPP: Prof. Tita Samuel Fon Frustrated Over Court Decision on CPP

Professor Tita Samuel Fon named as leader of the Cameroon People’s Party, CPP, by Minister Paul Atanga Nji in 2018 has reacted to a decision of an administrative court cancelling his appointment.

In a WhatsApp message to Mimi Mefo Info, he writes
“Sir, declaring the Minister’s decision null and void doesn’t change the fact that she (Edith Kah Wallah) was dismissed from the party by the Restructuring Committee. She remains dismissed and presenting herself anywhere as a member of CPP is illegal. Anybody or organization dealing with her in the name of CPP, is only fanning lawlessness”.

Professor Tita who considers himself as the founding president of CPP failed to state if the court passed the verdict in bad faith.

He was appointed leader of the CPP by Paul Atanga Nji on the eve of 2018 presidential election in Cameroon. This permitted Prof. Tita Samuel Fon to join the G20 political platform with a faction of his CPP. An action democratically elected leaders of the CPP challenged in court.

Sunday June 14th 2020, Professor Tita Fon posted a message on a WhatsApp forum criticising the private press in Cameroon for recognising the legitimacy of Edith Kah Walla as the leader of CPP. He wrote
“These private TV houses are a problem to reality. With some little money, they are prepared to give room for any rubbish, not bothering that they have the duty to educate the nation with facts. That is journalism in our context. These TV houses keep rubbing CPP in mud with Kah Walla’s dirty politics, knowing fully well that she ceased being a militant since 2018 that she was dismissed. I am reluctant to go to court for matters of insanity and therefore feel that, let dogs bark as caravans keep passing”.

With the decision of the court officially recognising democratically elected leaders of CPP and dismissing the decision of Minister Paul Atanga Nji, it remains uncertain if that will provoke Prof. Tita Samuel Fon to seek legal actions.
