CRTV Pays Last Respects to News Anchor, Carine Olive Yabit

Workers of Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) have paid last respects to the famous news anchor, Carine Olive Yabit, who died last month in France.

Her mortal remains were removed from the Yaounde General Hospital Mortuary before being taken to the CRTV production centre at Mballa II for Professional Honours.

Attended by dozens of mourners, including family members, CRTV journalists and other well-wishers, the professional honours ceremony was officiated by the CRTV’s Director General, Charles Ndongo.

Ndongo described the late presenter as a passionate professional who dedicated 25 years of her life at the public broadcaster.

Several officials of the state broadcaster as well as government officials, including the President of the National Communication Council, Joseph Chebonkeng, were also in attendance.

This Thursday’s ceremony follows a condolence visit made by workers of CRTV Mballa II studio to Carine Olive’s residence at Tsinga, Yaounde, on Wednesday.

The news anchor, who had been promoted to senior reporter, breathed her last on May 23 while receiving treatment for a protracted illness at a Paris Hospital.

She was known for her gentleness and serene approach to news presentations.
