Cup of Cameroon: PWD Bamenda intensifies training ahead of semi-finals

PWD Social Football club of Bamenda have intensified training in Bamenda ahead of their cup of Cameroon semi-finals clash against six-time winners, Union Douala. The match will be played Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Bamedzi stadium in Bafoussam.

The Abakwa Boys who are just fresh from a two-nil quarter-final glory against Avion Academy say they are determined to qualify for the final of the competition.

During Wednesday’s training session at the Big Mankon School field in Bamenda, playmaker Nchindo John Bosco and winger John Paul Nzo Ngong were all absent due to injury.

Coach David Pagou has remained faithful in his philosophy and says the team will be ready to face Union on Saturday.

This season, Union Douala defeated PWD Bamenda two-nil in the championship in a match many people thought was fixed.

In the other semi-finals match, Coton Sport of Garoua will take on Astres Douala at the Municipal Stadium in Bertoua.

With the league likely not to continue, winners of both semi-final matches may represent Cameroon in CAF inter-club competitions next football season.
