At least 280 bags of non-biodegradable plastics have been seized in the Adamawa region of the country.
The illicit items were confiscated by the customs special mission for the fight against illicit trade in the Adamawa Region.
The heavy duty truck transporting the said plastics was intercepted on its way to the country’s political capital, Yaounde.
“We had a reliable information that these goods were somewhere in a hidden area in Garoua and it had as destination, Yaoundé. So we had to intercept them” a custom officer disclosed.
Apart from the non-biodegradable plastics, other goods were seized by the custom officials.
“We have 26 motorcycles and then some packaged of Shisha” added the customs officer.
The custom officer has however promised to put in their best in ensuring that such persons are continually tracked down.
