Four accused individuals of the Kumba school massacre have been sentenced to death by the Buea Military Court. The verdict comes almost 1 year after the attack which claimed the lives of Seven students of the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy.


Cameroonian-born Journalist and founder of UBIZNEWS, Amobe Mevegue has died. The veteran Journalist who has worked for multiple International media houses including “TV5 Monde” died today, September 8, 2021. He passed on some days after burying his mother in Cameroon.

A primary school teacher has died in Melong — on the eve of the new school year. Neighbours of the deceased say the teacher fell infront of his house while trying to open the door for his animals to get out in the morning.



Separatist fighters in Boyo Division have issued an order suspending all private and denominational schools in the Division till further notice. Students and pupils who had resumed classes on Tuesday were simply informed this afternoon to stay at home and wait for an official announcement on when to return to class. Public opinion says the fighters have not been settled.



Drivers in Nkambe have deliberately avoided using the Nkambe-Bui stretch of the road citing insecurity. Separatists announced last week the road was open for circulation yet traffic is still to resume. Drivers prefer the Nkambe-Bafoussam road because it’s more profitable with some drivers making 300.000frs per trip.



Today marks 1 year 8 months that Bamenda’s economy has operated from a power plant in Ntarinkon. The power plant has been rationing electricity for the entire region since a high power transformer supplying the region got bad. Eneo says it’s the place of the government owned SONATREL to supply the high tension transformer. Electricity from the West region does not reach the region.
