The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, CHRDA has urged government to respect the rights of the four Kumba school shooting perpetrators sentenced to death by firing squad. The sentenced, CHRDA noted in a statement, “should be afforded the opportunity to appeal against the verdict as stipulates by law.”



The Divisional Officer of Bamenda II in the North West Region of Cameroon has prohibited the North West Lawyers association from holding any public meeting in his area of command. The reason for the decision is yet to be known.




Armed men have shot one person at Way-In Nkwen, Bamenda today. The victim tried to intervene as the armed men tried to steal from a shop.




Parents are in a state of dilemma across Boyo Division as separatist fighters in the area have continued to harass and kidnap teachers. This comes after they closed down schools, a situation many fear would cause a decrease in enrollment across the Division.




A headless corpse has been retrieved in Mbingo, North West region of Cameroon. Residents say female corpse is yet to be identified.



Transport Minister, Jean Massena Ngalle Bibehe has announced a campaign against road accidents in Cameroon. The campaign is expected to run from September 10, 2021 to February 28, 2022 across the national territory.



Three Cameroonians yesterday died in an accident in Mataba, Noun Division, West Region. The victims, a mother and her two children ran off the road into a stream in an effort to dodge a pothole.


Four Cameroonian actors and actresses have been nominated for the Sotigui awards in different categories. This year’s award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.


Cameroon’s Volleyball Lions have qualified for the quarter finals of the ongoing African Nations Volleyball Championship in Kigali, Rwanda. They qualified after a victory of 3 sets to 0 against Mali.
