The president of the North West House of Chiefs is about to spend a first night in separatists’s captivity. Reports say the from was picked up from his Bambalang palace in the North West Region today. His kidnappers are yet to make any demands.

The President of the South West Regional Assembly has been involved in a car accident today in Limbe around Mile 4 neighbourhood. He was in his car with his driver at the time of the accident. They both escaped with minor injuries.

Audrey Nabila Monkam, Miss Cameroon has emerged 1st runner up at the Miss World Contest in Puerto Rico. The first place was occupied by Miss Ivory Coast, Yacé Olivia, and in third was Puerto Rico’s
Aryam Díaz Rosado.

Cameroonian-born Lazare Eloundou Assomo has become the first African to be appointed at the helm of the UNESCO World Heritage. He was appointed yesterday by Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has today received the AFCON trophy. He mentioned during the reception that the presence of the trophy in Cameroon was assurance that Cameroon was going to host the tournament.

British MP, Claudia Naomi Webbe, has termed the human rights violations in the Anglophone regions, an “act of atrocity”. Addressing the armed conflict that has lingered on for close to five years, the lawmaker said international inaction was unacceptable. The MP for the Leicester East Constituency, said the silence of institutions and bodies able to influence a resolution of the conflict, is worsening the situation.


The circulation of cars was today halted partially along the Mutengene-Buea road in the South West Region. This was after two vehicles crashed into each other in the Mile 14 neighborhood. No human casualty was recorded.

The Parliamentary Network for the promotion of Human Rights and Cybersecurity today at the National Assembly met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The sitting comes at a time Cameroon is hosting thousands of refugees from the armed conflicts in the North West & South West Regions, and the Far North Region, as well as from neighboring nations.
