Deceased Music artist, Mbonjem Lesley Aponglen aka Fhish has been laid to rest in his hometown of Awing, in the North West Region. Fhish died in a tragic road accident on December 23, 2021, along the Douala-Tiko road.
Thousands continue to pay tributes to Fhish and his manager, Feka Parchibel. Others however have criticized some celebrities for using the artist’s death to settle scores.
The South West Region has witnessed a security boost ahead of the AFCON tournament. Residents say more troops and armored cars have been deployed to the region to secure the players and fans in the region from separatist threats.
Crisis groups have called on the Government and Separatist fighters to call for an immediate ceasefire in the South West Region. They have called for a cessation of hostilities as the AFCON tournament plays out in the country.
The President of the Confederation of African Football, Dr. Patrice Motsepe has arrived in Cameroon ahead of the AFCON tournament. He is expected to preside over the opening ceremony of the tournament at the Olembe Football Stadium in Yaoundé.
