The Divisional Officer for Ndu in Donga Mantung Division, North West region has asked forest owners to clear some portions of their forests in the town. The Ndu Field of the Cameroon Baptist Convention and other private forest owners, the official says, should cut down the trees to keep away separatist fighters. Failure to do so within two weeks would have them face legal actions, he warned.


Members of the network of Parliamentarians for the Diaspora, Decentralised and Cross-border Cooperation (REPCOD) today met with some diaspora-based Cameroonians. The Cameroonians from the diaspora met the network under the banner of the Afric Love Association. Addressing them, REPCOD Vice President, Senator Otte Mofa urged them to continue being Cameroon’s ambassadors to the rest of the world.


Footage circulating on social media shows separatist fighters stripping students naked in Buea, South West Region. It is still unclear what happened to the students who were stripped at gunpoint by the separatists who also threatened to shoot them for going to school.


The Senior Divisional Officer for Menchum Division has ordered all teachers in the Division to resume their duty posts latest January 18, 2022. According to the SDO, stating insecurity as a reason for being absent will not be considered valid as he claims the violence has subsided in the Division.


Separatist fighters have doubled down on their threats to disrupt the AFCON tournament. The separatists have warned the foreign teams lodged in the South West Region to leave. Ambazonian leaders have warned several times that they will disrupt the tournament in the South West Region.


The Governor of the Littoral Region has announced that free transportation will be given to spectators who will be heading to the Japoma Stadium to watch AFCON games. Spectators will have to own a match ticket and fulfill the Covid-19 entry conditions to get access into the stadium.
