Some teachers abducted by separatist fighters in Weh, North West Region have been released. The three teachers were picked up days ago with a female colleague who was earlier released. The other three were set free today. It remains uncertain if they paid any ransom.




In a similar story, workers of the Cameroon Development Corporation also abducted by separatist fighters days ago have been reunited with their loved ones. Videos on social media show them communing with family and friends as they celebrated their release. The nine workers had been taken captive as they braved the odds and recent attacks on the corporation to work in its plantations.


Inhabitants of the Quartier Quatre neighbourhood in Melong, Littoral Region have called on the electricity company to remove a fallen electric pole from the neighbourhood. They say the pole has been there for over a month, with live wires on it, exposing children to danger.


Multiple persons are feared injured after a stampede at the entrance to the Olembe stadium in Yaounde. The incident happened as thousands lined up to gain access to the facility to watch the Cameroon-Comoroes game of the round of 16.


At least 4 persons have died today in a deadly road crash in Kake Village, around Souza in the Littoral Region. The accident was caused by a speeding trailer transporting gravel which lost control and ran over three vehicles.


FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o today received a girl with visual impairment in his office. The girl who knits beautiful bags had solicited the help of Samuel Eto’o Fils in a video that circulated on social media.


The Gambian Football Federation has debunked claims that the Gambian coach said 6 of his players are lodged in a hotel room at the Bana Vallée Hotel in the West Region. According to a statement from the GFF, the statement from their coach was taken out of context by the local press. The GFF has also apologised to the organisation committee of the AFCON for the misinterpretation.
