There was chaos in Bamenda today after a 7-year-old girl, Tataw Brandy, was killed by a police officer. The girl was reportedly hit by a bullet that was aimed at a pickup truck being pursued by the policeman.


At least two persons were killed Bamenda, in the aftermath of the death of the little girl killed by the police. The individuals died from military bullets fired towards the crowd which had gathered to protest against the death of the young girl.


Still in connection to the killing of a school girl in Bamenda, the North West Regional governor, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique has said an investigation is ongoing. The police officer accused of shooting the kid, he said, is already in custody.

The Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele has confirmed that the little girl was gunned down by a security officer. Fagha Alain, he said in a statement, attempted to shoot at an escapee pickup truck, but the bullet ricocheted, hitting the school girl instead.


Cameroon is seeking to boost its police force by 12,500. The President, Paul Biya has approved a request by the Delegate General for National Security for the recruitment of the new officers within the next five years. This comes at a time the police force is being called out for acute unprofessionalism.

The Social Democratic Front, (SDF) party’s Joshua Osih has urged the Cameroon government to put an end to the war in the Anglophone Regions. The MP speaking in Yaounde today where their November session of Parliament is ongoing, said it was time for the government to let parliament discuss the crisis.

At least three students of Government Bilingual High School Kribi have died in a road accident. The students were on motorbikes which collided against each other, causing their deaths.

A Cameroonian lady, Stella Kamnga has come under scrutiny after she bizarrely suggested that Africans in the diaspora should no longer send money back home. According to her, the money sent back to Africa encourages laziness.
