Gilbert Meyong, the new Senior Divisional Officer for Bui, North West Region has officially taken over his functions. The official who took office today is expected to head a division known to be one of the strongholds of separatist fighters in the country.


Residents of Kikaikom in Bui Division have decried the destruction of some homes by soldiers. Amateur footages circulating on social media show roof tops blown off and holes drilled in walls, purpotedly by soldiers.


The towns of Yaounde and Douala have been overwhelmed with dirt, as workers of sanitation company, Hysacam continue their strike action. The workers are asking the authorities to pay them three months owed salaries, before they resume work. Attempts to get them back to work have all failed.


A taxi driver today in Douala engaged in a car chase with the police after refusing to present car documents. Reports say, no one was hurt in the process.


Two micro finance institutions in Douala were burgled last night. Reports say men of the underworld stormed the institutions in the New Bell neighbourhood, drilling holes into the walls before making away with undisclosed sums of money.


Female lawyers in the North West Region have taken a commitment to fight against breast cancer. They made the pledge during a sensitisation campaign held in partnership with the Bamenda Regional Hospital.

Fields of Peace, a network of faith based entities has called for a new perspective, to end the killings in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. Their focus is the killing of children in war zones. In an open letter to parents of Cameroon, they condemned the murder of Carolouise Ndiale and other children.
